New York-based photographer Kathy Shorr is the recipient of this year’s Bob & Millie Lynn Grant, which promotes coverage of important social issues and under-reported stories. Shorr will receive $4,000 to help fund her project SHOT: We the Mothers Miami.

SWTM is a photography documentary by Kathy Shorr featuring 51 mothers who have lost children to gun violence in the Philadelphia area. The women have been photographed at locations of their choice, which hold a special meaning to their child. Photographs of mementos from the children are also included in the project.Kathy Shorr
